Easter Nails

Have you seen these cool speckled nail polishes from Illamasqua? I think they are really cool and they remind me of mini eggs!

Basically I really like them but they are £14.50 a bottle. I’m sure they’re great quality but my meagre student budget does not stretch to that right now.

I’m fairly sure by this time next year Barry M will have come out with a more wallet friendly version so I’ll stick it out. In the meantime I made my own imitation mini egg nails.

Just picked two similar colours in different shades and speckled the darker over the lighter. I went for a chocolatey look, but I reckon this would be really nice with pastels.

Mini Eggs

I finished it up with a matte topcoat, which gives it a more authentic texture and I’m ready for the Easter weekend.

They’re not quite right, and not as cool as the Illamasqua version, but for a first attempt they’re not bad.

  1. Aww.. I love your DIY version! I do agree, it’s quite expensive. And it chips!
I just did a Illamasqua speckled egg nail review, please come visit and let me know what you think 🙂
